BeanPaths is a traceability platform designed specifically for cocoa and coffee supply chains. Our mobile app allows field agents to register farmers, map plot boundaries using GPS, and collect farm data — even without an internet connection. When connectivity is available, data syncs to a central dashboard where you can generate compliance reports, track batches from farm to export, and maintain a complete chain of custody.
BeanPaths is built for anyone in the cocoa and coffee supply chain who needs to collect and manage farm-level data:
We are currently running pilot programs in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire, working directly with cocoa cooperatives and exporters. We plan to expand to other major cocoa and coffee origins including Nigeria, Cameroon, Indonesia, Colombia, and Brazil in the coming months. If you're interested in partnering from another origin, please contact us.
For early partners in our pilot program, we can typically get you set up and trained within 2–4 weeks. This includes configuring the platform for your specific needs, training your field agents on the mobile app, and helping you import any existing farmer data. The exact timeline depends on the size of your operation and the complexity of your data requirements.
The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a European Union law that requires companies placing cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soy, timber, and cattle products on the EU market to prove those products are deforestation-free and legally produced.
Key requirements include:
Non-compliance can result in fines up to 4% of EU turnover and product seizures. BeanPaths helps exporters collect and organize the data needed to meet these requirements.
The EUDR entered into force in June 2023, with the main compliance obligations for large companies applying from December 30, 2025. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have an additional six months, with their deadline being June 30, 2026. However, many EU buyers are already requesting EUDR-ready data from their suppliers, so early preparation is strongly recommended.
BeanPaths provides the tools you need to collect, organize, and report the data required by EUDR:
While EUDR is our primary focus right now, the data collected through BeanPaths is also valuable for other certifications and regulations, including Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, Organic certification, and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). We are continuously expanding our reporting templates to cover additional compliance frameworks.
Yes. The BeanPaths mobile app is designed specifically for low-connectivity environments. Field agents can collect farmer data, map GPS coordinates, and record batch information completely offline. All data is stored locally on the device and automatically syncs to the cloud dashboard whenever an internet connection becomes available. This is essential for many cocoa and coffee growing regions where mobile data coverage is limited.
The app uses the device's built-in GPS, which typically provides accuracy within 3–5 meters under open sky conditions. For EUDR compliance, the EU requires geolocation data with sufficient accuracy to identify the plot — our mapping meets this standard. For even greater precision, the app is compatible with external Bluetooth GPS receivers that can achieve sub-meter accuracy.
The BeanPaths platform currently supports English, French, and Spanish, with the interface adaptable to local languages based on partner needs. The mobile app uses simple icons and visual cues to minimize language barriers for field agents. We are actively working on adding Portuguese, Twi, Dioula, and other local languages based on demand from our pilot partners.
The mobile app runs on Android devices (version 8.0 and above), including smartphones and tablets. We recommend devices with GPS capability and at least 2GB of RAM for optimal performance. The web dashboard is accessible from any modern browser on desktop or mobile. An iOS version is planned for future release based on demand.
Yes. We support bulk import of existing farmer data via CSV or Excel files. During onboarding, our team will help you map your existing data fields to the BeanPaths format and import everything into the platform. This saves significant time compared to re-entering data manually and ensures a smooth transition from paper or spreadsheet-based systems.
We are currently offering free pilot access to early partners who help us shape the platform. After the pilot phase, we will offer flexible pricing based on the number of farmers, volume of data, and features required. Our goal is to make BeanPaths affordable for cooperatives of all sizes. Contact us for a custom quote tailored to your operation.
Yes. We offer a no-obligation demo where our team walks you through the platform and shows how it applies to your specific use case. For qualified cooperatives and exporters, we also offer a 3-month pilot program with full access to the platform at no cost, including training and support. This lets you evaluate BeanPaths with your actual data and field teams before making any commitment.
No. We believe in earning your business through value, not lock-in. Our standard plans are monthly or annual subscriptions that you can cancel anytime. For enterprise partners with specific needs, we offer custom agreements with flexible terms. Your data always belongs to you and can be exported at any time.
You do. Your farmer data, plot coordinates, and supply chain information belong entirely to you. We act as a data processor, storing and organizing your information securely. We never sell, share, or use your data for any purpose other than providing the BeanPaths service to you. You can export all your data at any time in standard formats (CSV, GeoJSON, PDF reports).
We take data security seriously and implement multiple layers of protection:
Yes. We are fully compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This includes providing data processing agreements, maintaining records of processing activities, implementing privacy by design principles, and ensuring data subjects (farmers) have rights to access, correct, and delete their personal information. We also help our partners meet their own GDPR obligations as data controllers.
Yes. The BeanPaths app includes a digital consent workflow where farmers (or their representatives) must explicitly agree to data collection before any information is stored. The consent form is available in local languages and explains what data is collected, how it will be used, and who will have access. Farmers can withdraw consent at any time, and their data will be removed from active use while retained for legal compliance purposes.
